It's not common that the guy on the percussion seat is the leader of the band; but then again, Jose “Majito” Aguilera is not an ordinary musician. Besides being a classically trained percussionist, “Majito” handles with equal skill different musical styles, especially Latin, Afro and Jazz.

An accomplished musician, (percussionist, composer, arranger and producer) Jose “Majito” Aguilera has played with some International salsa and jazz superstar including Oscar De Leon, Celia Cruz, Sammy Figueroa, Issac Delgado, Choco Orta, Cheo Feliciano, Maelo Ruiz, Ray Sepulveda, Cano Estremera to name just a few and have performed worldwide with his own band sharing the stage with of all of them and some others Latin music legends that include Willie Colon, Ruben Blades, Frankie Negron, Marc Anthony, Andy Montanez, El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico among many others

This album shows “Majito” Aguilera’s increasing musical maturity as composer and arranger, by revealing a great variety of percussive colors, all these achieved throughout his successful and intense career.

The only other additional comment I might add, would be that, although it seems impossible, Jose “Majito’ Aguilera is way much better during live performances than he is on this CD or any given recording format. That said, I would highly recommend this album to anyone.
